About Thondamuthur
Thondamuthur lies west of Coimbatore city, taking in the foothills of the Western Ghats, the Siruvani water catchment area and the rural blocks of Pannimadai and Madhampatti. The seat is the political home turf of S. P. Velumani, AIADMK's former municipal administration minister, who has won every election here since 2006.
Polled votes cleared 258,549 in 2026 on the back of a heavily contested 21-candidate field. The constituency feeds directly into Coimbatore's drinking water supply via the Siruvani pipeline and is part of the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat.
