By 2026 Velumani was the AIADMK's enduring face in Coimbatore West, a Kongu-belt strongman whose politics combine Dravidian welfare-state populism with strong urban-municipal delivery — his decade-long Municipal Administration tenure overlapped with the build-out of Coimbatore's Smart City projects, sewage and stormwater works. After 2022 he became central to EPS's organisational rebuild, holding the Headquarters Secretary post that runs day-to-day party operations.
