How we counted
- A booth is one row of Form 20, the CEO's polling-station-wise result sheet. A party led a booth when its candidate had the most votes in that row.
- Booth sheets count machine (EVM) votes only. Postal votes are not in them, so they are in no number on this page.
- 75,059 rows have votes. In 309 of them the top two candidates were level: a tie, counted as a lead for nobody (at least 300 of these are in the seats whose sums match ECI). 49 rows record no candidate votes and are left out.
- TVK means Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. ECI prints the same code for another party, Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi, which is counted apart (5 booths).
- Seat winners are ECI's declared results, machine and postal votes together. The marker ▼ compares the winning party with the runner-up's party in that seat; ties are never counted. All 25 marked seats are among the 218 seats whose booth sums match ECI's totals exactly.
- In 16 of the 234 seats the booth sheet differs from ECI's machine-vote totals by a few votes. Counts there are as the sheet gives them; 91 booths in those seats are within 2 votes, so a lead there could move by a handful.
- Chengalpattu's published sheet has four stations with no votes printed and seven blank rows, and its booth totals are about 2,300 EVM votes short of ECI's result.
- In 412 booths two or more candidates were level for second place. The booth panel then gives the second-place votes without naming a party.

Questions about booth-wise results
Which party led the most polling booths in Tamil Nadu in 2026?
TVK led 34,864 of the 75,059 booths with votes recorded, AIADMK 16,314 and DMK 15,448. Booth figures are machine (EVM) votes from the Form 20 sheets; 309 booths were tied and count as a lead for nobody.
Can a party lead the most booths and still lose the seat?
Yes. A seat goes to the candidate with the most votes in total, not the most booths, and booths differ in size. In 25 seats the winning party led fewer booths than the runner-up's party.
How do I find booth-wise results for my constituency?
Tap your seat in the table or on the map, then open All booths of this seat. There you can search by village, ward or booth number.
Why is the booth total 75,059 and not 75,108?
The Form 20 sheets hold 75,108 rows: the polling stations, auxiliary ones included, plus blank rows that pad two sheets (Kilvelur, Vedaranyam). 49 rows record no candidate votes, so 75,059 booths have votes and are counted here.
