Method and sources
- Seven data stories on the Tamil Nadu Assembly election of April 2026, built from the Election Commission's results and the booth sheets of the Chief Electoral Officer.
- Each number here is the headline of its story page; that page carries its own method and sources.
- Seat results: Election Commission of India, 234 seats, April 2026 Assembly election. Postal votes are counted in the ECI totals.
- Booth figures: Form 20 sheets of the Chief Electoral Officer, Tamil Nadu. They hold machine votes only; a booth is led by the candidate with the most votes there.
- Registered electors: the roll of 6 April 2026 (CEO Tamil Nadu), which leaves out service electors.
- In 16 seats our booth sheet differs from ECI totals by a few votes. Chengalpattu's published sheet has four stations with no votes printed and seven blank rows, and its booth totals are about 2,300 EVM votes short of ECI's result. Each story says where this matters.
- TVK is Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam. ECI prints the same code for another party, Tamizhaga Vaazhvurimai Katchi, which is counted apart.
