DMK's R. Jayaramakrishnan reclaimed Madathukulam with 70,458 votes, defeating AMMK's C. Shanmugavelu by 15,968 votes. Jayaramakrishnan had won this seat in 2016 by 1,667 votes and lost it to AIADMK's C. Mahendran in 2021 by 6,438; this cycle reverses that flip.

About Madathukulam
Madathukulam is a rural constituency in southern Tiruppur district, taking in Madathukulam town, Udumalpet outskirts and the Amaravathi reservoir command area. The seat has been one of the western belt's most volatile in recent cycles, swinging between DMK and AIADMK by tight margins of 1,667 votes in 2016 and 6,438 in 2021. The economy runs on cotton, coconut and dairy, and the Amaravathi dam supports irrigation across the assembly segment. Polled votes were 186,669 this cycle in a 14-candidate field. Madathukulam falls within the Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency.
Madathukulam travel
Madathukulam is the gateway to the Amaravathi reservoir and crocodile farm, half an hour from Udumalpet town. The drive west leads into the Anaimalai foothills and the Aliyar approach to Valparai's ghat road.
