About Madathukulam
Madathukulam is a rural constituency in southern Tiruppur district, taking in Madathukulam town, Udumalpet outskirts and the Amaravathi reservoir command area. Before 2026 the seat was one of the western belt's most volatile, swinging between DMK and AIADMK by tight margins of 1,667 votes in 2016 and 6,438 in 2021.
The economy runs on cotton, coconut and dairy, and the Amaravathi dam supports irrigation across the assembly segment. In 2026, polled votes were 188,249 in a 13-candidate field. Madathukulam falls within the Pollachi Lok Sabha constituency.
