Avanashi is a Scheduled Caste-reserved seat in Tiruppur district, sitting on the Coimbatore-Salem highway and known for its temple town heart, dyeing units and the Avinashi Aiyappa temple draw. The seat has been an AIADMK stronghold since 1991, with P. Dhanapal winning back-to-back terms in 2016 and 2021 by widening margins.
