About Senthamangalam
Senthamangalam (AC 93) is a Namakkal-district seat that sits at the foot of the Kolli Hills, on the route from Namakkal town up the 70-hairpin ghat road. The taluk is one of eight in Namakkal district and is the road head most Kolli traffic uses.
Below the hills, Senthamangalam slips into the lorry-bodybuilding country that has earned Namakkal its 'Transport Hub of South India' tag — thousands of truck operators, LPG-tanker fabrication yards and a handloom weavers' belt that stretches toward Tiruchengode. The plains grow tapioca and groundnut.
Senthamangalam & Kolli foothills
Senthamangalam is where you turn off for Kolli — the 70-hairpin climb to Arappaleeswarar temple, Agaya Gangai falls and the pepper-and-jackfruit slopes the Sangam poets sang about. Stop on the way back at the lorry-body yards that line the Namakkal road, and end at the Anjaneyar temple under the rock fort in Namakkal town for sunset.
