TVK's M. Vijay edged out AIADMK's I. Mahendran in Usilampatti — ending a two-term AIADMK hold in this seat near Madurai. The AIADMK won the seat in 2016 (P. Neethipathi) and 2021 (P. Ayyappan); the 2026 result was the closest result the seat has produced in its post-delimitation history.
