AIADMK's K. Mohan won Panruti with 78,398 votes, beating VCK's A. R. Abdur Rahman on 67,735. The result ends T. Velmurugan's run on the seat; the Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi leader, formerly of the PMK, had carried Panruti in 2021 with 93,801 votes.

About Panruti
Panruti is the jackfruit capital of Tamil Nadu, with the May-June fruit auctions at the Panruti market drawing buyers from as far as Mumbai. The seat sits in the southern half of Cuddalore district, covers Panruti taluk and parts of Kurinjipadi, and runs along the Gadilam river.
Around 210,767 voters polled in 2026. The seat went to a different party in each of four elections: PMK's T. Velmurugan in 2006, DMDK's P. Sivakolunthu in 2011, AIADMK's Sathya Panneerselvam in 2016, and Velmurugan again in 2021, on the DMK's symbol. AIADMK retook it in 2026.
Jackfruit auctions and Pichavaram
The Panruti jackfruit market is a working spectacle from late April through June. From here, the Pichavaram mangrove backwaters at Killai are an hour south on the East Coast Road, and the Devanampattinam beach near Cuddalore town offers a quieter sunset than Marina.
