Cuddalore 2026: TVK's Rajkumar wins by 15,519 votes
TVK's B. Rajkumar took Cuddalore with 70,856 votes, ahead of Congress's A. S. Chandarasekaran on 55,337. The 15,519-vote margin overturns the 5,151-vote DMK win that G. Iyappan posted here in 2021.

About Cuddalore
Cuddalore is the port-and-district-headquarters seat of Cuddalore district, on the Bay of Bengal where the Gadilam meets the sea. The AC covers Cuddalore town, the SIPCOT chemical-industrial estate, the Old Town fishing harbour, and the Thirupathiripuliyur belt. About 187,000 voters polled this cycle. The seat has see-sawed: DMK's G. Iyappan won in 2006 by 6,266 votes; AIADMK's M. C. Sampath swept 2011 by 33,678 and held 2016 by 24,413; Iyappan reclaimed in 2021. TVK has now broken the binary.
Silver Beach and Pichavaram mangroves
Silver Beach in Cuddalore is one of the longest stretches on the Coromandel coast and is the city's main weekend draw. South of town, the Pichavaram mangrove forest at Killai offers boat rides through the world's second-largest mangrove system, and Devanampattinam fishing harbour is good for early-morning catch photography.
