About Maduravoyal
Maduravoyal (AC 7) is a north-western Chennai suburb at the junction of the Chennai Bypass and Poonamallee High Road, created as an assembly seat by the 2008 delimitation. The constituency is anchored by the Koyambedu Wholesale Market Complex — Asia's largest perishable-goods market by area, opened in 1996 and handling vegetables, fruits and flowers across hundreds of acres — and the CMBT bus terminal next door. The Anna Arch at the Anna Nagar roundabout, the MMDA layout, and Maduravoyal's eastern lakefront make this one of Chennai's busiest IT-corridor extensions.
Maduravoyal & the Koyambedu Belt
Maduravoyal sits at the meeting point of the Chennai Bypass and PH Road, with Koyambedu's vast wholesale market — Asia's largest by area — humming next door. Walk over to the CMBT bus terminal at dawn, or drive five minutes north to the Anna Arch and Anna Nagar's tower park. End at a Koyambedu mess for ulundu vadai and filter coffee.
