Vedasandur 2026: DMK retains by 10,063

DMK's T. Saminathan held Vedasandur with 84,948 votes, beating AIADMK's V. P. B. Paramasivam by 10,063 votes. The seat had flipped DMK in 2021 under S. Gandhirajan after AIADMK's Paramasivam won it in 2016, and the margin this cycle is roughly half the 17,553 DMK posted last time.

Vedasandur sits in northern Dindigul district, anchored by Vedasandur town and the spinning mill belt that ties into the Karur-Dindigul textile corridor. The seat covers Vedasandur and Reddiarchatram blocks, with cotton, fodder and dairy as the economic mainstays. AIADMK's S. Palanichamy and V. P. B. Paramasivam held the seat through 2011 and 2016 before DMK broke through in 2021 with S. Gandhirajan. Polled votes were 224,613 this cycle in a 16-candidate field. The constituency falls within the Karur Lok Sabha seat.
