Pappireddipatti (AC 60) is a hilly, semi-arid taluk of Dharmapuri district on the Salem–Dharmapuri belt, framed by the Chitteri hills and the dry Vaniyar river basin.
The constituency sits inside one of Tamil Nadu's mango heartlands — Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri together account for over 60% of the state's mango output — and its blocks supply high-grade black granite from the Pennagaram-Harur quarries to export markets.
Hogenakkal Falls on the Cauvery, where the river drops through black-rock gorges and coracle ferries cross between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, lies about 50 km away, and the Krishnagiri reservoir reads as the region's other water spine.
