Dharmapuri win — Sowmiya Anbumani holds PMK's Vanniyar fortress
Sowmiya Anbumani — wife of former Union Health Minister Dr Anbumani Ramadoss and daughter-in-law of PMK founder S. Ramadoss — took Dharmapuri for PMK over TVK's M. Sivan. PMK has won the seat three times since 2006 (2006, 2021 and 2026): it is one of the main seats in the Dharmapuri-Krishnagiri-Salem area that S. Ramadoss has built the party on.
DMK did not make the top three in 2026 — DMDK's V. Elangovan finished third with 56,905 votes.

About Dharmapuri
Dharmapuri is one of the PMK's main seats; the wider Dharmapuri Lok Sabha seat is considered a PMK stronghold because of Vanniyar votes. The district sits at TN's northern threshold — agriculture, sandalwood reserves in the Harur-Kottapatti forests, pink-granite quarries, and the Cauvery's Hogenakkal gorge to the east.
The Adhiyamankottai Fort just outside Dharmapuri town was the seat of the Sangam-era Adiyaman dynasty, the legendary patrons of the poetess Avvaiyar.
