TVK's G. Sabari Iyngaran took the reserved Periyakulam seat with 85,656 votes as DMK ally VCK's P. Sakthivel finished second on 66,335. The 19,321-vote margin is a heavy reversal in a constituency DMK had won by 21,321 in 2021.

About Periyakulam
Periyakulam (AC 199) is a Scheduled Caste reserved constituency in Theni district, covering Periyakulam town, Genguvarpatti, Hanumantharayanpatti and the foothill villages climbing toward the Western Ghats. It is mango country — the local Imam Pasand and Neelam varieties anchor a busy May market — and is also a base for trekkers heading into the Megamalai range. The seat went CPI(M) in 2011 with A. Laser, AIADMK in 2016 under Dr. K. Kathirkamu and DMK in 2021 with K. S. Saravana Kumar before flipping to TVK in 2026.
