About Andipatti
Andipatti (AC 198) sits in the cardamom-and-grape belt of Theni district, taking in Andipatti town, parts of Cumbum valley and the lift-irrigation villages along the Vaigai dam canal.
It first came onto the national map when J. Jayalalithaa contested and won here in 2002, and it has historically been an AIADMK stronghold under Thanga Tamil Selvan, who took it in both 2011 and 2016. DMK broke through in 2021 with A. Maharajan and held in 2026 even as the AIADMK vote splintered toward TVK.
