About Sivaganga
Sivaganga is the district headquarters seat, named for the temple tank at its centre and the Marudhu Pandiyars who held the country against the East India Company in the late 18th century. The constituency is a mix of the small-trade town, the Chettinad outskirts to the south and the dry farming villages on the Tiruppattur road.
The seat has changed sides over the years - CPI through 2006 and 2011, AIADMK in 2016 and 2021, and TVK in 2026.
