Shozhinganallur
Shozhinganallur 96,780-vote landslide — TVK sweeps Chennai's OMR IT corridor
TVK's ECR P. Saravanan won Shozhinganallur by 96,780 votes — the second-largest margin in Tamil Nadu in 2026, behind only Edappadi. The constituency covers the OMR/IT corridor of southern Chennai — Sholinganallur, Navalur, Siruseri (SIPCOT IT Park), Thoraipakkam and Egattur — Tamil Nadu's most 'modern' constituency by demographic, dominated by tech-sector workers and gated-community residents. Shozhinganallur was created by the 2008 delimitation and held its first contest in 2011; this is the seat's first ever non-Dravidian-major-party win.

About Shozhinganallur
Shozhinganallur is an assembly constituency in Chengalpattu district (carved from Kancheepuram in November 2019), covering Tamil Nadu's most prominent IT belt — the OMR (Old Mahabalipuram Road) corridor running south from Chennai through Tidel Park, RMZ Millenia, Sholinganallur, Navalur, the Siruseri SIPCOT IT Park and into Egattur. The constituency was created by the 2008 delimitation; before that, the OMR villages were spread across the older Mylapore, Saidapet and Thiruporur seats. The Sholinganallur Eri (lake) — a 1,000-acre wetland that hosts wintering flamingos — sits between the IT towers and is one of the seat's most contested public spaces.
Shozhinganallur & the OMR Coast
Shozhinganallur is Tamil Nadu's most modern assembly seat — IT towers, gated highrises and a contested 1,000-acre lake where flamingos roost every December. From the ancient west-facing Karpaga Vinayagar shrine that gave the locality its name to UNESCO-listed Mahabalipuram thirty kilometres south, the constituency stitches glass-and-steel Chennai to a 1,300-year-old Pallava coastline.
