About Sholinghur
Sholinghur sits between Arakkonam and Ranipet, built around the twin-hill Sholinghur Narasimha temple — the Yoga Narasimha at the lower hill and the Anjaneyar shrine atop the higher one. The constituency takes in Walajapet, Nemili, and a heavily Vanniyar farming belt that gives PMK its strong organisational base here. The Palar river runs along the southern edge, and the GST-Bangalore highway corridor brings auto-component and tanning units close to the western boundary.
Yoga Narasimha on twin hills
Climb the 1,305 steps to the Yoga Narasimha shrine on the lower hill, then push on to the Anjaneyar temple at the higher peak for a view across the Palar plain. Stop at the Walajapet bus-stand stalls for halwa and filter coffee before driving back through the Vellore highway.
