DMK's Paul Manoj Pandian won Alangulam with 69,170 votes over AIADMK's K.R.P. Prabakaran; he had won the seat for the AIADMK in 2021 as P.H. Manoj Pandian. The seat returns to the DMK fold after the 2021 AIADMK win, in a 13-cornered field where the AIADMK edged TVK for second by 688 votes.

About Alangulam
Alangulam is a small town in Tenkasi district, set on the road between Tirunelveli and Tenkasi. The constituency takes in the town plus the surrounding paddy, banana and turmeric villages along the Tamiraparani belt.
The economy runs on irrigated agriculture, the local cement and lime trade, and the steady flow of pilgrims using the seat as a stop on the route to Courtallam and Tenkasi.
Politically the seat is most closely associated with the late Aladi Aruna, the DMK veteran who won it in 1996, and his daughter Dr. Poongothai who carried it in 2006 and 2016. P.H. Manoj Pandian won it for the AIADMK in 2021 and, as the DMK's candidate, again in 2026.
