Her affidavit declares total assets of ₹44.4 lakh, liabilities of ₹11.44 lakh and no pending criminal cases. The DMK announced her candidacy on 9 September 2026.
She is a member of the DMK's women's wing, as reported by The Week on 9 September 2026. Etv Bharat Tamil reported that she had been working actively for the party and that the DMK leadership was giving her, for the first time, a chance to contest from Dharapuram.
